Peer involvement at New Leaf College
New Leaf Wellbeing College isn't just about being a student and learning how to better manage or maintain your wellbeing. We believe that students can make a valuable contribution towards the day to day operation of the college and we encourage students to get involved.
Our 'Peer Involvement Pathway' supports students to give back to celebrate your learning achievements, increase your confidence, help widen your social network and shares and builds on your experiences with others. Anyone who is a student and has experienced mental ill health, a longer term physical health need or is a carer can put themselves forward to become involved.
What are the benefits of becoming involved?
Experts by experience bring commitment, skills, interest, energy and enthusiasm and can work with us in many ways. The college fully believes in co-production. Co-production makes sure people with lived experience are equal partners in the college, and support course development and delivery. The college believes students can provide practical advice and guidance, supporting us to promote mental and physical wellbeing and reduce stigma and discrimination.
If you would like to know more about getting involved, speak to your tutor or call the college team on 01442 864966 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
