The friendly faces of the college
Irma – Development Manager
Irma’s role is to guide the strategic direction of the college and she’s committed to making sure students have an excellent quality learning experience, both from courses and from the peer involvement pathway. With many years’ experience in the mental health sector, Irma is passionate about giving people the tools to be in control of their wellbeing and enabling them to go on the journey of self-discovery.
Anna – Lead Tutor
Anna is Lead Tutor within the college and is responsible for managing the tutors and ensuring quality teaching and learning experiences for all of our students. She also facilitates the peer development sessions and is involved in both co-productions of new courses as well as reviewing our current courses. Anna continues to teach within the college and you may meet her on courses such as Mindfulness for daily living.
Joanna – Peer Co-ordinator
Joanna oversees our regular peer development sessions and helping students to engage with involvement opportunities at the college. Joanna has worked within mental health for a number of years and provides a supportive ear for students who want to build their confidence and fulfil their goals.
Louisa – Communications and Marketing Officer
Louisa is the college’s social media guru with responsibility for marketing, from producing content for the website to designing the timetable. Louisa has worked across a number of sectors and roles, including HR, finance and events and has a degree in Marketing.
Chris - Team Administrator
Chris is the friendly voice you will most often hear when you call the college, and is responsible for enrolling students. Chris works hard to help the team with administrative tasks and we often hear Chris offering advice to students about what courses would best aid their recovery journey too.
The team behind the scenes
The college is also supported by a number of students who get involved with the college behind the scenes. These include our dedicated mentors and volunteers, our brilliant student council members, those brave students who write for the blog and our wonderful curriculum board, classroom assistants and students who help shape the college through co-production. If you would like to see how you can make a difference too, find out more on our get involved page.
Tutors and peer tutors
The college’s core staff members are supported by a team of dedicated course tutors who all have specialist wellbeing expertise, either in a professional capacity or through their own life experiences.
All of our tutors are friendly, supportive and encouraging. They help inspire our students to maintain their wellbeing by being approachable as well as by drawing on their own wellbeing challenges.
Tutors are encouraged to deliver courses through a variety of methods and have a wealth of knowledge, experience and training to ensure they deliver courses on time and to a good standard. Tutors are observed and receive feedback from our students to ensure they meet our student’s needs too.
Tutors will have previously delivered training in a professional capacity; peer tutors will have been students in the past and completed the peer involvement workshops prior to becoming a peer tutor. If you are a student and would like to explore becoming a peer tutor too, please get in touch with us, call 01442 864966 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
