Our ethos of co-production ensures that people with lived knowledge of mental or physical health challenges are equal partners in everything we do, which is why the college employs a pool of ‘peer tutors’. Peer tutors are experts by experience; they bring commitment, interest, energy and enthusiasm to the classroom environment to help students learn, sharing the skills and strategies they use to manage their own health and wellbeing. They work alongside our college tutors in each class setting to meet and greet students, deliver course content and assist students who require practical or emotional support during sessions.
The peer tutor role is a paid role, offering part-time flexible hours, depending on college requirements. The college’s partner organisation, Hertfordshire Mind Network, invites applications for peer tutor posts from time to time; for more information about current peer tutor opportunities within the college, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
