About the course

This course will explore what is meant by creativity and the positive impact that it can have on your mental wellbeing. We will discuss the creative process, and suggest several creative activities you can try for yourself to support your mental wellbeing.

Learning objectives:

  • To learn about the creative process to improve mental wellbeing
  • To gain some practical experience of taking part in creative exercises
  • To provide opportunities to unlock creative potential

When online or in a face to face class, it will be helpful for students to have the following items handy during the session:

  • An empty mug
  • Some paper, pencil, and pen
  • An old carrier bag

Items to create a collage/mood board:  Just use what you have at home already: e.g. paper, old magazines, junk mail, flyers, old newspapers, old catalogues, coloured pens/pencils, bits of ribbons, old envelopes, pictures from used greeting cards. Something that can be used to stick things to paper e.g. choice from glue stick/white pva glue, sellotape, masking tape, double-sided tape, glue dots, etc.

This course takes place over three hours in one session.
