Meaningful activities and wellbeing

This two-part course explains why bringing meaningful activity is crucial for day-to-day life and recovery with mental health challenges. You will explore the powerful impact meaningful activities will have on physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing, and help you to create an identity that gives purpose to your day, which builds on your quality of life.

During the course, we'll also explore real-life examples of physical,  psychological, and social activities. You’ll have the opportunity to learn strategies for building healthy routines, and to recognise and work towards dreams and ideas, both old and new. By taking a look at goal setting, you’ll also see how you can support the integration and sustaining of meaningful activities in your life.

Learning objectives:

  • To understand how to balance and improve your activity participation in a graded and safe way.
  • To complete and reflect on some activity participation tools and resources and consider how you may be able to apply any learning from them.
  • To Consider our interests and what we might want to change about our activity participation.
  • To explore different areas of activity that offer opportunities to expand participation.
  • To look at approaches which might help us start and sustain activity changes.

This course takes place over two hours in two sessions.
