We're proud to present two types of courses for healthcare professionals HPFT staff and people who use Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT's) services. 

If you have not yet done so, you will need to enrol in the college using the unique enrollment form below before booking a course.

If you find the course you want to attend is fully booked, please get in touch with us to be added to the waiting list. If you have booked a place on a course that you can no longer attend, please log into your account or contact us to cancel your place so that other students have the opportunity to attend.

Current timetable for HPFT professionals

For healthcare professionals only

These courses are for:

  • Any professionals who support people with complex emotional needs (or a diagnosis of personality disorder). This can include, but is not limited to, those working in healthcare, the police, the ambulance service, the fire service, local authority and services that support people with health challenges.

The one-day course is suitable for any professional at all levels who may occasionally interact with people with complex emotional needs during their normal working day (such as receptionists, administrative staff, and telephone support staff). 

The three-day course is suitable for any professional whose role is likely to directly support or regularly interact with people with complex emotional needs (e.g., inpatient and community-based staff across all roles, and staff from key agencies and charities, e.g., CGL, MIND, and the police).

Understanding complex trauma, emotional development & personality 

In this course, we will explore what trauma-informed care means to people who may have been diagnosed with a personality disorder. We will explore different models that place the person at the centre, while dispelling the myths that surround the diagnosis.
