Assertive Communication Skills Workshop
Assertive Communication Skills Workshop

About the course

Assertiveness is an important skill in life.  It enables us to express our needs to others and assert important boundaries and make choices in our lives.  This three-session course explores different communication styles and gives you an opportunity to think about how you commonly communicate and how this is working for you.  There is a practical focus with the opportunity to try out assertiveness skills in a friendly and supportive environment.

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand what assertiveness is - and what it is not -  and to think about your own communication style
  • To understand when you might choose to be assertive
  • To learn and practise some assertiveness tools

This workshop takes place over six hours in three sessions.
